Crimping is the most popular method assembling the hydraulic hose. The detail specification need to be confirmed before you get started with any hose assembly. Once the specifications have been defined, the hose assembly technician can get to work. The process can vary by crimper model, but typically the technician marks the insertion depth on the hose, applies lubricant to the fitting stem, pushes it inside the end of the hose, and inserts it into the crimper die. Finally, the technician secures the fitting permanently onto the hose by activating the crimper’s power unit to apply pressure. What things need to be considered when choosing the hydraulic fittings:
1.The size of the hose that the fittings will be used for.
Different hoses have different specification and will need different end fittings.It’s importation to confirm which kind of hose do you have.Such as how many steel braided,hose ID and OD,working pressure request and burst pressure request….
2.Temperature request.
The operating temperature range for tube fittings depends on the material type, plating, and type of seal.Typically, O-ring seals add leak-free reliability to your fitting connections, but depending on the temperature of your application a metal to metal seal may be needed.
3.What material required?
Commonly used material include carbon steel,stainless steel,brass and plastic.Which kind of material would you need depends on the applications and environment of your hose and fittings will be used for.Carbon steel and brass are usually suitable for low pressure request.Stainless steel is more suitable for high pressure request(up to 10000psi).
4.What connections/threads of hose fittings would you need?
